This is a non conventional shop, a no-profit cooperative, created in 1974 by a group of people who felt the need for a stationery and book shop, in order to meet the needs of kids and youngsters living in the centre of Città Alta. The book cooperative “Il Quartiere” is an active business from 40 years, it has always been run with the same enthusiasm and passion, in a city that has changed but is able to keep its typical shape in places like this. Here you can find stationery for kids, exclusive gifts and city guides in a variety of languages.

At number 14/a of Via Gombito in Città Alta there’s a breath of passion for the Art and cuture. The art gallery “Gli Angeli” is “an imagination workshop”, as the holder Mimma Massone loves to define it. She’s an esteemed gallery manager and an art lover since more than 25 years; she’s a collector and a curator of national and international exhibitions and cultural events such as: the permanent exhibition area of the Bank Group CFM in Montecarlo, the Audiovisual library room in Saint Jean Cap-Ferrat, the exhibition designed for the “Teatro La Fenice”, solo art exhibitions for the Masters Cascio, Celiberti, Folon, Guidi, Licata, Longaretti, Luzzati, Pizio,Poggiali, Potenza and the art critics Basile, Bellati, Cabutti, Caramel, De Martino, Micieli. “Alla Città di Babilonia”, The Gate of the Gods since 1907, located in via Gombito 12/d it’s the most historical atelier in Città Alta. In the roomy shop you can find, among others, the Marella woman collection part of the italian group Max Mara. You can find all kind of sizes, ranging from XXS to XXXL. It’s a unique experience because, as the owner likes to underline, “We don’t just cover our customers, we dress them”, helping them choosing the right garment.
